See Yourself in Prospect Park
Located next to the Park Slope neighborhood, Prospect Park encompasses 526 acres and represents a major greenspace in the Brooklyn borough. There are many things to do in the park, from quiet picnics to sports to general sightseeing.
THINGS TO DO IN THE PARK
Prospect Park boasts Brooklyn's only natural forest, the borough's only lake, and the 90-acre Long Meadow. The Boathouse is one of the most elegant venues in New York and regularly hosts weddings. The Lefrak Center at Lakeside offers ice skating, curling, and hockey during the winter months and then roller skating, biking, and boating in the summer.
PROSPECT PARK ZOO
Prospect Park Zoo is one of the park's top attractions, offering five exhibits housing 864 animals, which represent about 175 species. Families appreciate the Discovery Center and the zoo's daily sea lion training sessions. Next door, located in Prospect Park’s Children’s Corner, is the Carousel. Carved in 1912, it features horses, a lion, a giraffe, a deer, and two dragon-pulled chariots.
